Meet Joe Stocker
The distance between a prison classroom and a career keeps widening.
The Last Mile provides intensive technology education inside correctional facilities, preparing students for careers and successful reentry. But across 19 classrooms in 12 facilities across six states, our outdated computers, some dating back to 2014, are struggling to keep pace with the technology students will encounter after release.
It will take at least $200,000 to refresh them.

The hardware needs to catch up.
The Last Mile’s curriculum, platform and instruction are current; the machines students learn on are not. Modern, mobile devices would enable students to train with the tools and technologies they’ll use in today’s workforce.
